What is the Fellows Programme?

The Fellows Programme is a part-time year-long discipleship & mentoring programme that focuses on spiritual and theological growth, and discipleship of the heart and mind. It is created by the C.S. Lewis Institute in the USA and delivered in partnership with Latimer Minster in London. The program was launched in Autumn 2011 and we are now opening applications for 2012/13 programme.

Key features:
1. Helps committed disciples of Jesus Christ develop the solid biblical beliefs, spiritual depth and moral character that will enable them to glorify God and impact their spheres of influence for Christ
2. One-on-one mentoring from someone handpicked for the Christian character and wisdom
3. The course has been tried and tested in the US, with a decade of success and over 4000 alumi
4. Monthly lectures from subject experts
5. Study and learn whilst staying in work
6. The course is free (except for books and a retreat weekend away) but all donations are much appreciated.

How does the Fellows Programme work??

The Programme is a 12 month course split into pre-course prep, a launch weekend, and 10 monthly cycles.

Pre-Course April – May 2012:

Submit the application form no later than 15th May 2012, attend an interview (w/c 21st May 2012) and an orientation evening on Tues 29th May 2012 from 7.30-9.30pm (subject to successful interview)

Pre-Course June – August 2012:

Complete pre-course reading by 31st August 2012 (you can see the books list here) please note the list excludes other free resources, online articles and additional audio/visual assignments.

Launch Weekend 14th to 16th September 2012:

Attend the launch weekend (Friday-Sunday) in Buckinghamshire to discuss the year ahead and receive teaching. Fellows are assigned a small group (based on sex, age, or location) and are assigned a mentor. The weekend retreat is an essential part of the course, it is therefore mandatory to attend.

Urban Plunge Day Saturday 3rd November 2012:

Fellows are assigned to one of our partner organisations within the local community to participate in a local project or mission. Each small group will participate in some way, in order that Fellows can gain some ‘hands on’ outreach experience usually in an area where they would like to grow. (Please note: The above date may vary depending on the type of mission activity)

Monthly Cycles October 2012 – June 2013:

- One Saturday morning lecture within tube zones 1-6 by a subject expert, followed by group discussion and prayer
- One evening meeting with your local group to eat dinner, discuss the month’s theme, and pray in triplets.
- One meeting with your chosen mentor
- Complete assigned reading (mixture of books, articles, webinars, videos, and audio- normally equivalent to 250 pages a month) – (you can see the books list here) Please note that the list excludes other free resources, online articles and additional audio/visual assignments.
- Submit one essay to mentor
