Read & Consider
Read Exodus 1: 6 -8
Joseph’s family had been blessed in Egypt. But maybe sensing the problems to
come, before he died Joseph reassured his brothers that “God will surely come to
your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to
Abraham…” (Gen 50:24) So although the new king we read of in verse 8 did not
know Joseph’s story, God’s plan was already in place.
In the same way that Egypt becomes a place of bondage instead of shelter, our
place of satisfaction may also become a place of affliction for all sorts of reasons.
We can be assured however that God will ‘come to our aid’ and lead us on. He
always has a plan.
Over to you
- A revelation of God’s good plans for His people and for God to ‘come to
- The raising up of the next generation who are ready to go where God
- A willingness to set out personally despite any setbacks you are
