Read & Consider
Read Exodus 33.19
What an interesting verse! Moses has just asked God to show him His glory, and what does God do? He shows him His goodness! The Bible tells us that God is the source of all good (James 1:17), that God works in all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28), and to give thanks for God’s goodness (Psalm 106:1). Goodness is a part of God’s identity; it is an attribute he communicates to us. God’s goodness is not tethered to our feelings or circumstances; it is a reality in every stage of the journey. In the same way the Lord showed Moses his identity, He can show you who He is today – good, kind, merciful, compassionate and gracious.
Over to you
- Your eyes to be opened to the glory and goodness of God today
- A person whom you can bless with a creative act of kindness today
- God’s compassion on those who are suffering on their journey today
How can I trust in God’s goodness today in spite of my feelings and circumstances?
Journal three things that you are grateful for today and thank God for his goodness.
Optional extra Family activity
Taste and see that the Lord is good! Get outside and see and collect examples of the beauty of his creation; or taste the culinary delights of his creation today.
