Read & Consider
Read Exodus 34.6-7
“God will invade. But… what it will be like when He does. When the author walks on to the stage, the play is over… you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream…it will be the time when we discover which side we have chosen, whether we realised it before or not.” CS Lewis- ‘Mere Christianity’
When we realise that we are called to serve a Holy God, to live lives worthy of the calling we have received, we often are immediately struck by how insufficient we are to move forwards. It is at this point of our journey that we start to integrate the terrible depths of our hopeless estate and the incredible gift of Christ’s righteousness.
Over to you
- Where do I need to confront the sin in my life with God’s grace?
- How can we be a people that live a life everyday transformed by the love God?
How could we bring the grace of God to those blinded by sin?
The illustration is to teach that regardless of how many or bad the mistakes we make, Jesus pours His love into our lives and makes us right with God again. Where could you spend time confessing and asking for healing as a result of past sin?
Optional extra Family activity
You will need: a large glass, paints and brushes, a sink and tap. Fill the glass with water. The challenge is to make the water in the glass as dark as possible mixing different colours together using your paintbrush. Once the water is as dark as possible, don’t empty it but run the tap and let the dirty water overflow until the water inside is clean.
The illustration is to teach that regardless of how many or bad the mistakes we make, Jesus pours His love into our lives and makes us right with God again.
