It is a wonderful autumn – and what better to do than head out to Stampwell Farm and get involved in a good bit of hacking, cutting and getting ready for the winter season.
This volunteer day will run from 9:30am-12:30pm, so you can still enjoy your Saturday afternoon elsewhere, and lunch will be provided.
Some of the jobs we will be tackling this time are:
Wood for Winter: splitting, preparing and collecting wood ready for the winter.
Guttering the Big Top: the tent needs to be prepared for the winter. We will be putting guttering up to avoid flooding inside and near the entrance of the tent.
Environmental work: we will be making and assembling wooden fencing along the public foot path.
Please wear appropriate clothing and bring any equipment you think may be useful, such as gloves, shovels, sledge hammers and wheelbarrow, otherwise tools and gloves will be available if you have none of your own. There will be some jobs which children can do under some supervision, but very small children will remain your responsibility.
See you there!
