A Vibrant Term Ahead!

Dear Minster and Friends,

We have such a vibrant term ahead of us at Latimer Minster. Here is a short run down of a few things we have to look forward to…

Our Sunday morning refreshments start from 10am with a short prayer meeting for any who want to attend from 9.45am. The main service starts at 10.30am and ends at Noon. During this service there are children’s groups; crèche , mini ministers, mega minsters, and ultimate minsters (younger youth). For the next few weeks we continue in Jonah (I am preaching this Sunday) and then we will prepare for Christmas by preaching on characters in the Bible who prepared the way for Jesus “They walked in His shadow”.

Encounter is the new name for our monthly gatherings for both worship (1st Sunday of every month) and prayer (Friday evenings).

During the week there are minster communities (6 groups which together form the gathering) and others which meet throughout the region for study and fellowship.

The youth have started “Saturday Nights” which include a youth service and small discipleship groups starting over the next few weeks. Our team of helpers and leaders also regularly support assemblies,RE lessons and Christian Unions locally, especially at Beaconsfield High School and The Beaconsfield School. And we will be hosting a retreat weekend for young people involved in Christian Unions (The Anchor) during half term in October.

This Saturday is Reboot – the apologetics conference for youth held in Westminster and hosted by Zacharias Trust and The OCCA. Many of our young people are travelling in on the train together. Amazingly this event is now sold out- but feel free to spread the word for the livestream https://www.rebootglobal.org/live/

We also run a brilliant toddler group- Minster Munchkins- see below!

We have a Newcomers Lunch on Sunday 8th October, after the service, hosted by the Sharps- if you’re new to the Minster, and would like to attend, please respond to this email!

Also our family Bonfire Celebration will be on Saturday 4th November from 4:30pm- this is a fantastic event to invite non-Christians to and bless the community, as it is completely free.

We have our Women’s Gathering too the following week on Friday 10th November. Stay tuned for details and ticket sales.

Christmas dates:
Our main Carol Service this year will be on 17th December at 5pm. Get ready for twinkly lights and amazing carols.

The Christmas Eve service with a live nativity will be on Sunday 24th at 3:30pm.

Christmas Day service will be at 10.30am and will be family friendly.

Lets be praying for people to encounter God in this season, and lets start thinking about how we as individuals and as a wider community can be participating, serving and sharing our faith in Jesus.
