“Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.”
Isaiah 26:8 Dear Minster and Friends
Have you ever waited outside an office for a decision to be made, waited for a headmaster to announce awards, or waited for exam results in a hallway?
Expectation and some anxiety can emerge when we are actively attentive, and actively waiting for someone or something which may determines the outcome of our lives. But when we wait for God, and for a word from God, it is more like the nervousness of a bridegroom twisting their head round to peer down the aisle as their bride arrives.
Or as the worship song goes ‘waiting here for you, with our hands lifted high in Praise, for its you we adore, singing Hallelujah.”
As a church may we continue to wait on God personally as we did during our day of prayer and as we continue to pray for all those we know sitting exams this week and waiting for results over the summer.
With much love,
